Understanding Spiritual Warfare is a free downloadable e-book promoting understanding of an inescapable reality of the Christian life. We are engaged in a spiritual war with (1) a world in opposition to God, (2) the corrupt inclinations of our flesh, and (3) the Father of Lies, who is the Devil. Victory is ours, but only through an active faith founded on a sure understanding of God’s Word (1John 5:4).

This book not only examines the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6), but amplifies Paul’s remarks about wrestling “not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12 KJV).  

Spiritual warfare took place in the heavenlies before the Serpent tempted Adam and Eve. The Flood reset the earth only to converge into the rebellion of the Tower of Babel. In faith, Abraham proceeded out of the Ur of the Chaldees, resulting in the nation of Israel, then the Church.

Earth’s final conflict will not be between the religions of the world but between Satan and Almighty God. The conclusion of it all, the LORD of Sabaoth must win the battle. In the meantime, how have the saints throughout the ages represented the Captain of the LORD’s Host in our participation in this spiritual war? Have we justified God’s decision to create us with His moral likeness? Have we spread the knowledge of His Name and His Son’s Name throughout the earth? Have we overcome the sin which doth so easily beset us? Have we magnified Christ by our dependence upon Him? Do we know how the equipment of spiritual warfare contributes to our success?

While seeking to equip the reader with a basic understanding of spiritual warfare, Understanding Spiritual Warfare does not claim to address every endeavor in God’s vast enterprise. Our focus is to enable God’s people better “to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13 KJV).
