Practicing the Presence of God

In practicing the presence of God, “let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13:15 KJV). Our praise will be turning into prayer, which becomes worship — drawing us closer to God. Let us continually act as if we believe the Spirit of Christ is dwelling within us, allowing us to continually commune with Him, and making us sensitive to “grieve not the Holy Spirit of God” (Ephesians 4:30 KJV) with foolish, irreverent, or thoughtless conversation. Father, guide us by Thy Word to think our thoughts as if we were pursuing Thee, and to aspire that our emotions would continually rejoice in Thee. Amen and amen.

Feed On The Word Of God

Feed on the Word of God much as you need physical food to survive and thrive. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4 KJV). If our physical body requires food, how can God’s words be optional for our spiritual existence? “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by Thy name, O LORD God of hosts” (Jeremiah 15:16 KJV). God’s Word is not just a physical book or an ebook in digital form. Jesus is the Living Word! You can’t destroy the Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1 KJV). Understand and think through the meaning of His words, seeing it is communing with the Living God, our Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ!
