Deathbed Visions

Supernatural visions are not simply the realm of the religious. Chris Kerr, MD, PhD Neurobiology, after reflecting on his experience with the death of his father, said: “When I was present at the bedside of the dying, I was confronted by what I had seen and tried so hard to forget from my childhood. I saw dying patients reaching and calling out to mothers, and to fathers, and to children, many of whom hadn’t been seen for many years. But what was remarkable was so many of them looked at peace.” Don’t misunderstand. Not everyone goes to Heaven, except those who obtain “eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23 KJV). But, how anyone finds that way, is in the hands of God. LORD, in our desire to accurately point seekers the way to Heaven, may we not forget that You are the Gatekeeper, and who You let in, is completely fine with us. Only may we be in that number. Amen.

Not Ashamed of Us

“But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city” (Hebrews 11:16 KJV). There are professing Christians who are ashamed of Christ. They don’t truly desire Him and His better country. But, what an honor! Our God is not ashamed to be called our God, if we desire Him above all! His Son bore our reproach outside the camp hanging on a Tree. Blessed Jesus! May we return the love to Thee!

As Long As I’m Useful To God

“For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you” (Philippians 1:23-24 KJV). Who wouldn’t want to go home to heaven? Surely even the wonderfully blessed time we may be experiencing now holds no comparison to heaven. But, the people, family, brothers and sisters in Christ we benefit, who need us, draw us to stay. Most of all, where does the LORD want us, where will benefit Him the most?

Devil Doesn’t Care

The devil doesn’t care if we start, so long as we don’t finish. Of course, he’d prefer we never started. Nonetheless, only “he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13 KJV). Not only does God care that we start, but He has an intimate interest in our finishing. “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 KJV). No one gets to Heaven or Hell against their will.

Discerning the Doctrines of Demons

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1Timothy 4:1 KJV). Charles H. Spurgeon said, “Discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. It is knowing the difference between right and almost right.” Almost getting into Heaven is Hell. Father, give Thy people discernment to avoid the doctrines of demons. Amen.

Can We Do Better?

We can absolutely do better, or we cannot grow.  “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10 KJV). Until we stand in the presence of our Lord, we will be constrained by the limitations of our earthly circumstances. We will ache, become weary, mishear, misunderstand, and even miss our intended target. We certainly need a supernatural, good shepherd. LORD, lead us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Amen and amen.

Good News

Disciples must talk about bad news in order to bring up the good news of the gospel. The world does not always want to listen, and even fellow disciples may weary as well. “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11 KJV). Christian, your greatest advertisement for Christ is the blessed, happy life you live for the LORD, in the meantime. “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city” (Revelation 22:14 KJV).

Elon Musk on Mars

Elon Musk would like to go to Mars and make us a multi-planetary species. Not just digital payments through PayPal, electric cars through Tesla, solar panels through SolarCity, internet communications through StarLink, or payloads to the International Space Station, but eventually, he is targeting the moon and Mars through SpaceX. Can he do it? The greater question is, Will God let him? If it serves God’s purpose, of course Elon Musk could do it. When the Almighty quelled the last great earthly rebellion against Himself at the Tower of Babel, He said, “Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech” (Genesis 11:6-7 KJV). Yahweh’s Divine Council chose to thwart the Tower of Babel because He was laying out the future of the supernatural spiritual warfare between Himself and His adversary. What would the world be like, if we only had one language? Either it would be like Heaven, or more likely Hell. A promise for the godly: “Surely the wrath of man shall praise Thee: the remainder of wrath shalt Thou restrain” (Psalm 76:10 KJV). LORD, may Thy Kingdom come and Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Amen and amen.

Children of the Righteous

The children of the righteous are those children which God has given to a Christian parent or parents. “For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of Him” (1Samuel 1:27 KJV). Faith will die out on the planet in one generation, if we fail to raise our children in the “nurture and admonition of the LORD” (Ephesians 6:4 KJV). God gave children to the parents, not the state or church. Just ask the parents of Moses. The awesome duty of Christian parenting is more than providing food, clothing, shelter, education, and socialization. “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel” (1Timothy 5:8 KJV). Our children’s impression of who God is comes from how they see us act, not just our talk. I am still amazed at what I hear my children say all these years later. They were listening more than I thought! Would you do things differently? Of course you would! But, our Heavenly Father has especially given us His promise that our children will meet us in Heaven. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6 KJV). Do we believe it? Remember, Christian parent, you are not responsible to God for how He keeps His part of this promise. Do all you know how to do on your part, and leave the fulfilling to the God of the Impossible!
