Hastening or Hindering, Restraining or Unleashing

Hastening or hindering, the Almighty allows us much more than we imagine. Children can help parents accomplish their goals or get in the way. When we pray for the fulfillment of prophecy, we are hastening Christ’s Second Coming. “Looking for and hasting [literally, hastening] unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat” (2Peter 3:12 KJV). We may pray, “Thy kingdom come” (6:10) and promote His return. But, if we should discourage the faithful from seeking our Lord’s imminent appearing, then we are hindering the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. When Jesus promised, “Surely I come quickly” (Revelation 22:20), shouldn’t we hasten His return by praying, “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (22:20)?

Restraining or unleashing, the LORD God seeks our comradeship in warfare. Allies can assist or delay final victory. Working with the Spirit of God, the godly, as the “salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13), represent the greatest restraining influence in the world against the adversary, his Antichrist, lawlessness, anarchy, malevolence, utter disregard for life, property, and the morals of others. Not simply the influence noticed by the world, e.g., anti-abortion, anti-pornography, pro-family, but the freedom, prosperity, and peace enjoyed by all, results from the peace the LORD grants to the righteous. “And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace” (Jeremiah 29:7). Though Abraham’s concern was for the welfare of “just Lot” (2Peter 2:7), his intercession provided the Judge of All the Earth (Genesis 18:25) the sanction or approval to unleash His judgment upon Sodom and Gomorrah, after Lot was removed.

By contrast, the Great Removal of the Church at the Pre-Tribulational Rapture represents the LORD determining He had sufficient sanction to remove the Restraining Influence — the Spirit Indwelt Saints — from the world. “7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he [Holy Spirit] who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming”  (2Thessalonians 2:7-8 NASB). As an omnipresent influence, the Holy Spirit continues His function in the world, but the noticeable absence of the restraining influence of the raptured believers will be profound. The Almighty will be proceeding with His masterful end game in dealing with the earth.

LORD, You are sovereign in determining when You will return. We are humbled that You would seek our companionship, labor, and approval in what You choose to do. Grant to us an understanding heart that You may be even more greatly magnified, when You choose to rapture Your Church. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Amen.

False Prophet: Directs the Worship of the Antichrist (Revelation 13:13)

Worship director for the Great World Leader is an esteemed role, except the Antichrist is that leader, who blasphemes Almighty God (Revelation 13:6), because he receives his power from the dragon (13:4). How does the world go so horribly wrong? Why does the LORD God allow this affront on such global display? “And he [the False Prophet] doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men” (Revelation 13:13 KJV). Toleration of the smallest wickedness in ourselves is the camel’s nose in the tent that brings down the house. “Abstain from all appearance of evil” (1Thessalonians 5:22). If we could not tolerate such sin in ourselves now, then would not such wholesale wickedness be condoned so easily later? “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth” (James 3:5).

Yahweh is carefully teaching the world, directing our hearts back to Him. It has not been apparent to the Church that the Judge of All the Earth has been teaching His people, we must submit our case before the Courts of Heaven, before He can actHe will not unilaterally perform His will in judging the earth until He gets our agreement or sanction. He created us to walk in agreement with Him, not to function as an independent tool. “O our God, wilt Thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon Thee” (2Chronicles 20:12). When sanctioned by the Courts of Heaven, Jehovah will do what He did for Jehoshaphat and Judah. “And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped” (20:24). The world will need to know the god of the World Leader and his Prophet is not the True God, and we, His people, call upon the LORD to judge the dragon, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet.

LORD, we know it is Your desire that all should repent and none should perish, but Your Spirit will not always strive with man. You alone know, when humanity’s iniquity is full. Save such as should be saved. Honor Your holiness, love, and perfection. Fulfill all righteousness. Use the devil, the Antichrist, and False Prophet, then judge them. Save Israel. Return quickly, in Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen and amen.

Judge Righteous Judgment (Part 3)

Your judgments or discernments are important to the Courts of Heaven. God records it in your unique book in Heaven. “Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in Thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them” (Psalm 139:16 KJV). Right in the corner where you are, you have been given the right to put forth your case before the Almighty judging “all things” (1Corinthians 2:15). It may not seem important to others, but your opinion about all things spiritual is regarded by the Judge of All the Earth. When you investigate His Word and make application of it to every aspect of your existence, then you truly are living by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Only the Spirit of Christ can work this in us. This is life, and that is abundance!

Judge Righteous Judgment (Part 2)

“He that is spiritual judgeth [Greek, anakrinō, called to account] all things, yet he himself is judged [Greek, anakrinō] of no man” (1Corinthians 2:15 KJV). Why is the spiritual man, who judges all things, not judged by any man? In context, the previous verse stated, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned [Greek, anakrinō]” (2:14). Natural man without the Spirit is unable to spiritually discern or judge righteously, so then, the spiritual man cannot be spiritually discerned or judged by the natural man. Spiritual snobbery? No. The judgment of the Highest Court is our rulings are not overruled. Most High God and Judge, we petition You to establish Your judgments, verdicts, and decisions here below, just as Your judgments rule in Heaven. Amen and amen.

Judge Righteous Judgment (Part 1)

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment” (John 7:24 KJV). The Kingdom of God is not the absence of judging, but the presence of judging “righteous judgment” (7:24). If the adversary can persuade us Christ’s words, “Judge not, that ye be not judged” (Matthew 7:1), meant we should never have an opinion, much less voice it, about anyone else’s actions, then how can you “see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye” (Matthew 7:5)? How do we dare differentiate between the “holy” (7:6) and the “dogs” (7:6), the “pearls” (7:6) and the “swine” (7:6)? The Judge of All the Earth (Genesis 18:25) desires all of His children to be righteous judges as He is, for then we enter most earnestly into heart sympathy with Him. LORD, may Your people be as You are, holy and righteous always abounding in Your work. Amen.

The World Has Gone Mad

And, God doesn’t seem to know how to control it. “This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead” (Ecclesiastes 9:3 KJV). Anything else new under the sun? But, do we seriously believe that God is still not the Judge of All the Earth (Genesis 18:25)? He is, whether we confess it or not. God shares His Gospel to convert the ungodly, but He shares His prophecies, so we’ll know that everything is going as planned.

Asymmetric Warfare

History is full of warring parties whose relative military powers differ significantly. This is asymmetric warfare. David versus Goliath. American colonists versus the British regular forces. The Viet Cong versus the American military. Hamas versus the Israelis. Do the weak actors, rebels, or insurgents always win? No. The underdog Americans won against the British in the American Revolution, but the more industrial Union defeated the more agrarian Confederacy in the American Civil War. Nations rise and fall because of the Unseen Hand of God. “6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in Mine hand, O house of Israel. 7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; 8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. 9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; 10 If it do evil in My sight, that it obey not My voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them” (Jeremiah 18:6-10 KJV).

Winning in the Courts of Heaven (Part 3)

Winning our battle against the devil is more than a personal struggle or victory, but “joy shall be in heaven”(Luke 15:7 KJV) by God and His angels over the repenting of one sinner. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary [Greek, antidikos, opponent in a lawsuit] the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1Peter 5:8). People cry out for justice, for it is true that God is the Judge of All the Earth (Genesis 18:25) dispensing justice. Then, why so much injustice in the world? God’s justice demands “all things be done decently and in order” (1Corinthians 14:40). Why? God refuses to do wrong to make things right. “There is no unrighteousness in Him” (Psalm 92:15). When we fail to bring our petitions into the Courts of Heaven without clearing away our adversary the devil’s objections against our case, we prevent God the Judge ruling in our favor. Satan’s objections against Jōb illustrate this. “Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life” (Job 2:4).

Winning in the Courts of Heaven (Part 2)

Change your attitude. Of course, we would labor feverishly, if our house was burning down. But, if our neighbor’s house was on fire, we hope we would be willing to do whatever is necessary to save them. Prayer for others is intercession, which is distinguished by love. “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 19:19 KJV). We’ve prayed so many times for ourselves unsuccessfully, how can we do any better for someone else? Naturally, there would be greater potential for answer, if there were more signatures on the petition, but the Courts of Heaven are looking for a judicial people, who can clear away satanic objections for the Judge of All the Earth to grant their requests. “And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And He said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake” (Genesis 18:32).

Adversarial System of Justice

In the western world, an adversarial system of justice is in place, where the legal framework places two advocates against one another before an impartial judge or jury, seeking a judgment or redress. Christians may see themselves as immune to taking someone to court, but they may become the defendant from an adversarial state or an aggrieved party. Jesus gave advice about this system of justice. “Agree with thine adversary [Greek, antidikos, opponent in a lawsuit] quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison” (Matthew 5:25 KJV). Man’s courts imperfectly mirror God’s courts. Consequently, we need to know how to transact business before the Courts of Heaven. Why? Because the Judge of All the Earth hears cases brought before Him against us by our Supernatural Adversary — and, the Ancient of Days invites it. “And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered My servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth [turns away from] evil” (Job 1:8). We need to familiarize ourselves with God’s courts, for He dispenses justice.
