Another Nation Invaded

On the morning of October 7, 2023, the Palestinian militant group Hamas invaded Israel, killing more than 1,300, injuring thousands, and kidnapping more than 100. Hamas’ 1987 founding charter calls for the destruction of Israel (Psalm 83:4). Even as the LORD had discontinued Israel’s political identity (70 AD) and brought it back into existence (1948), may we all remember His warning, “He that toucheth you [Israel] toucheth the apple of His eye” (Zechariah 2:8 KJV). “We’re Going to Die Here” tells us what it was like for some in the early hours of this conflict.

FYI: We Don’t Know

NASA’s concluding report for 2023 on UAPs (unidentified anamolous phenomena) or UFOs (unidentified flying objects): “We are the American government and we are open, but we don’t know what these UAPs are.” Nothing to make front page news. Better that than ET phone home. Explanation for most UAPs was “planes, drones, weather phenomena, and instrument features” with the recommendation of using scientific instruments for UAP detection. Editorial opinion: UFOs are lying wonders. “Even him [Antichrist], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders” (2Thessalonians 2:9 KJV).

He Cometh With Clouds

“Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen” (Revelation 1:7 KJV). The Second Coming of Christ is yet to occur, because not everyone knows and admits that Christ has already returned, for “every eye shall see Him” (1:7). Debate will not occur, or it’s not Christ’s Second Coming. Even Christ’s enemies will admit He has returned. He comes with clouds descending, just as He left in His Ascension. “And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:10-11 KJV). Even so, come Lord Jesus. Amen.

Why the Christian Worldview Isn’t Working

Church membership is quite noticeably declining because the Christian worldview isn’t working. The faith of the Scriptures doesn’t seem to explain what’s going on in the lives of church members to make the weekly pilgrimage to church worth it. Not enough Christian service? Too little outreach? Some churches preach and teach Bible prophecy, while others simply acknowledge the Second Coming of Jesus Christ with allusions to the New Heavens and New Earth. For instance, Hebrews 10:25 is often quoted as why disciples should assemble as a church. “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25 KJV). Notice the compelling nature of church attendance was “as ye see the day approaching” (10:25). What day? The soon or imminent return of the One who said, “I come quickly” (Revelation 3:11; 22:7, 12, 20 KJV). Who has a good explanation for why Jesus hasn’t yet returned? This is only one example of a Christian worldview that doesn’t seem to be working. And, I do not think this was simply anticipating the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple worship in 70 AD by the Romans. If we were to introduce the concept of delay in spiritual warfare, as seen in the Book of Daniel (10:13), we could see how Christ’s Return would be just as imminent today, at any moment, as for the original recipients of the Book of Hebrews. But, we would have to reorganize our worldview. A little drastic change, now and then, is a healthy thing, don’t you think?
